Η 22η Διεθνής Συνάντηση Σύγχρονης Τέχνης -Art Athina 2017 επέστρεψε ανανεωμένη και δίνει το καθιερωμένο της ραντεβού το τριήμερο 25-28/05 στο Tae Kwon Do Παλαίου Φαλήρου.
Συνολικά 12 ενότητες αναπτύσσονται γύρω από τον κεντρικό άξονα της φετινής διοργάνωσης με 56 συμμετέχουσες γκαλερι-αιθουσες τέχνης από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό. Αλλαγή φέτος και στην διευθετηση του θεσμού, με νεα καλλιτεχνική διεθυντρια την κα. Σταματία Δημητρακοπούλου. Την υπολοιπη ομάδα απαρτίζουν η Ξένια Καλπακτσογλου (επιμελήτρια εκθέσεων- π. διευθυντρια Athens Biennale) ως καλλιτεχνικός σύμβουλος και ο Αντώνης Κούρκουλος ως γενικός συντονιστής.
Στα highlights της φετινής διοργάνωσης αποτελούν οι 13 νεες gallery από την LA LA LAND aka Los Angeles. ενω οι ενότητες των βασικών συμμετοχωντων ορίζονται και οργανώνονται από επιλεγμένους επιμελητες τέχνης.
Η φετινή fouar είναι αφιερωμένη στο έργο των Γιάννη Κουνέλλη και Δημήτρη Μυταρά.
Το Ίδρυμα Ιωάννου Φ. Κωστοπούλου παρουσιάζει το φιλμ του Heinz-Peter Schwerfel «Αποσπάσματα από ένα ημερολόγιο» (Γερμανία 1996, 46΄) καθώς και αρχειακό υλικό από την ατομική έκθεση του Γιάννη Κουνέλλη στο φορτηγό πλοίο ΙΟΝΙΟΝ (1994). Στο πλαίσιο του αφιερώματος, ο Μανώλης Μπαμπούσης επιμελείται την παρουσίαση «Το έργο του Γιάννη Κουνέλλη μέσα από τον φακό του Μανώλη Μπαμπούση».
Η Εθνική Πινακοθήκη- Μουσείο Αλεξάνδρου Σούτζου παρουσιάζει αφιέρωμα στον Δημήτρη Μυταρά που περιλαμβάνει τρία έργα του σπουδαίου ζωγράφου από τις συλλογές της Εθνικής Πινακοθήκης.
Η Γκαλερί Ζουμπουλάκη συμμετέχει στην ΑRT ATHINA (ενότητα DESIGN | Stand E3) παρουσιάζοντας Limited Editions σημαντικών designer.

Η έκθεση περιλαμβάνει έπιπλα με καθαρές γλυπτικές γραμμές· από τις ρευστές καμπύλες της Zaha Hadid έως τις γεωμετρικές, χρωματικές συνθέσεις των Raw Edges και Shay Alkalay. Τα καθημερινά αντικείμενα επαναπροσδιορίζονται, αποκτούν νέα έννοια και λειτουργούν στον εικαστικό χώρο.
Ειδικά για γατόφιλες οικογένειες, σκίτσα καλλιτεχνών, ζωγραφικές δραστηριότητες, διαδραστικά γατοεκθέματα και εργαστήρια περιλαμβάνει το πρόγραμμα που έστησαν οι Very Young Contemporary Art (VYCA). Οι καλλιτέχνες που συμμετέχουν στη φετινή διοργάνωση προσκλήθηκαν να σχεδιάσουν ειδικά για τα παιδιά ασπρόμαυρα σκίτσα με γάτες και οι μικροί, αλλά και μεγαλύτεροι φιλότεχνοι καλούνται να τις ανακαλύψουν, να τις χρωματίσουν και να σχεδιάσουν τον δικό τους γάτο-χαρακτήρα.
Παράλληλα με την νέα δομή της Art Athina, αυτή τη χρονιά παρουσιάζεται και το νέο VIP πρόγραμμα, εστιασμένο σε διακεκριμένους συλλέκτες από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό.

~ And this year... a new Art Athina is released!
The 22st annual international contemporary art fair -Art Athina has returned and renewed and meet us for her ordinary appointment this weekend 25-28/05 at the Tae Kwon Do Stadium (Faliro Indoor Hall).
In total 12 parts are developed around the main bond of this years' organization with 56 participant galleries and art spaces from Greece and abroad. A change this year also occurred to the direction of the fair, with the new artistic director Ms. Stamatia Dimitrakopoulou. The team is also composed by Xenia Kalpaktsoglou (curator, past co-director of Athens Biennale) as an artistic contributor and Antonis Kourkoulos as a general manager.
The highlights of this years' organization are maintained by the 13 new galleries from LA LA LAND (Los Angeles)- from our favorite movie this year ;-) while the compositions of the basic participants is held and organized by a team of selected art curators.
The fair is dedicated to the work of Jannis Kounellis and Dimitris Mytaras.
The Ioannou-Kostopoulou Foundation presents the film of Heinz-Peter Schwerfel "Frammenti Di Un Diario" -Fragments of a Diary, (Germany 1996 96') as well as archival material from the solo exhibition of Kounellis to the truck ship IONION (1994). Within this content, Manolis Babousis curates the presentation "Jannis Kounellis though the lens of Manolis Babousis"
The National Gallery-Alexandros Soutsos Museum presents a dedicated theme -work of Dimitris Mytaras that is formed by three artworks of the great master from the permanent collections of the National Gallery.
Zoumboulakis Galleries is participating at the Design section (Stand E3) of ART ATHINA with Limited Editions works of Art & Design.
The exhibition includes furniture with distinctly sculptural forms; from the fluid curvaceous table of Zaha Hadid to the geometric, chromatic compositions of Raw Edges & Shay Alkalay. Everyday objects are redefined, adopt new meaning and held on to the artistic space.
Especially for families with cats, drawings from artists, painting activities, 3-D cat-exhibits and workshops are been involved to the program of VYCA (Very Young Contemporary Art). The artists who take part in, are invited to design especially for children, black&white sketches with cats and our little ones and the grown-ups are called to color them to discovered them and to design their own characters.
At the same time, within the new structure of Art Athina, this year is existed the VIP program focused on the distinguish collectors of Greece.
