~Η νέα δουλειά του Θωμά Τουρναβίτη "Saints in Carousel" στην αίθουσα τεχνης Τεχνοχώρος
Εκτιμώ μια ζωγραφική δουλειά που μπορεί να σε προβληματίζει. Να σε ταξιδεύει σε εικόνες και μνήμες μια άλλης ρομαντικής εποχής που έχει πια παρέλθει. Που γεννούν νοσταλγία.
Ο Θωμάς Τουρναβίτης δημιουργεί πορτραίτα ανθρώπων λουσμένα στο φως του ήλιου και με την αίσθηση της κίνησης αέναα παρούσα. Συλλέγει στιγμές και τόπους, έθιμα και ηθικούς κώδικες δημιουργώντας λαογραφικές συνθέσεις, τόσο οικείες και συγχρόνως άκρως νοσταλγικές, ενώ ανα-παράγει σκηνές με πρωταγωνιστές ανθρώπους της Ελλάδας του σήμερα υπονοώντας μια Ελλάδα που βρίσκεται στα όρια της λησμονιάς και της εξαφάνισης.
Όπως ο ίδιος χαρακτηριστικά αναφέρει.. "Η απωτερη πρόθεση του ηθικού προβληματισμού μου, που εκδηλώνεται μέσα απο την ζωγραφική σειρά "Saints in Carousel© ", είναι η ανάγκη για αναγέννηση της φυσιοκρατικής αγωγής, για την αντιμετώπιση του κινδύνου της εξαφάνισης του ανθρώπου απο τη σκηνή της ιστορίας. O άνθρωπος είναι το πιο τραγικό πλάσμα μέσα στο σύμπαν. Aποτελεί το ποτάμι της παράδοσης που μεταφέρει τις αξίες και τα ανώτερα ιδανικά από τους προγόνους στους απογόνους, γι’ αυτό η σημασία του είναι εξέχουσα. Κρίνοντας ωστόσο από την σημερινή εποχή, παρατηρείται ο αφανισμός του. Eνώ παράλληλα του έχει επιβληθεί το ευτελές και το αναλώσιμο στην καθημερινότητα του. Ίσως, λοιπόν, η ζωγραφική σειρά "Saints in Carousel© " να λειτουργήσει ως θρυαλλίδα για την δρομολόγηση της σκέψεως του ανθρώπου η οποία θα αναστρέψει την πορεία των πραγμάτων." Θ. Τ.
Η αίθουσα τέχνης Τεχνοχώρος παρουσιάζει την ατομική έκθεση ζωγραφικής του Θωμά Τουρναβίτη με τίτλο “Saints in Carousel”, που εγκαινιάζεται την Πέμπτη 18 Μαΐου στις 20:00 και θα διαρκέσει μέχρι και το Σάββατο 10 Ιουνίου. Πορτραίτα ανθρώπων λουσμένα στο φως του ήλιου και με την αίσθηση της κίνησης αέναα παρούσα, συγκεντρωμένες στιγμές και τόποι, έθιμα και ηθικοί κώδικες δημιουργούν λαογραφικές συνθέσεις οικείες και συγχρόνως άκρως νοσταλγικές, παράγοντας σκηνές με πρωταγωνιστές ανθρώπους της Ελλάδας του σήμερα υπονοώντας μια Ελλάδα που βρίσκεται στα όρια της λησμονιάς και της εξαφάνισης.

I appreciate an artists' work that has the capacity to make you skeptical. To make you travel though images and memories of another romantic era that is already gone; That can give birth to nostalgia.
Thomas Tournavitis creates portraits of humans spotted by the sunlight and with the essence of movement that is always present. He collects moments and places, local traditions and ethical codes remaking folk compositions so familiar and at the same time so sentimental, while he reproduces scenes with actors, humans of Greece today, implied a country *Greece in particular, that is on the limits of oblivion and forgotten.
As himself (Tournavitis) states characteristically... the ulterior intention of my ethical concern that is highlighted through my painting series "Saints in Carousel© ", is an inner need for a renaissance of physiocrate education or behavior, for the dealing of danger of disappearance of human kind. Human is the tragic figure in the universe. He consists of a river of tradition that carries the high values and the ideals from their ancestors to the following generations, therefore its significance is of greatest importance. In addition to this, and criticize from today's time we can observe its extinction Whereas at the same time it is been imposed to this, the unworthy the consumable to its everyday life. Perhaps in another way the painting series "Saints in Carousel© " can be work as the touchpaper the starting point for the routing of human thinking that can reform -transform and reverse the course of the development of things " T.T.
The art gallery Technohoros presents the solo painting exhibition of Thomas Tournavitis entitled “Saints in Carousel“ this Thursday 18th May at 20:00 and wil last until Saturday 10th June. Portraits of humans that are highlighted by the sunlight and with the essence of movement that is always present, collected moments and places, local traditions and ethical codes remaking folk compositions so familiar and at the same time so sentimental, while he reproduces scenes with actors, humans of Greece today, implied a country *Greece in particular, that is on the limits of oblivion and forgotten.
With an inner search self-knownledge and self-esteem, with guidance the childhood memories, he recreates images of an urban culture with the dynamics of intense color tones and usage of paintbrushes.
